February Art Workshop

Join us for an art workshop with the inimitable, Marilyn Torchin! She will help us get loose with instruction in abstract painting and you will definitely enjoy some laughs!

Location: The Door Art Gallery
3073 W. Bullard Ave, Fresno, CA 93711

Time: 11:00 am to 1:00 pm

Over the past few years, I have developed special techniques for creating mixed media abstract paintings. I do not start out with a pre-planned notion of what the abstract will look like. I let my work evolve as I take it in and out of its working stage to add color, texture or depth. Because of this process, it takes several weeks to get these abstracts to a point where I feel I can share them with others. I continually try to challenge myself to create paintings that capture the essence of my environment. My hope is that you will enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them.

Art Demo: Kat Mosely

At The Door Gallery, we have scheduled Kat Mosley to demonstrate acrylic urban paintings. A native Californian, Kat Moseley was born and raised in Fresno, part of a family dedicated to agriculture. After graduating from Fresno High School, she migrated to the Bay Area for college and work. Work offered an opportunity for international assignments that expanded her travels further to Europe, Africa and Asia. She now has returned with her husband to her roots in Fresno.

Her demo will focus on urban Fresno city views: underpainting, building drama, and finishing techniques.

Bring any work you would like some feedback on. We will have a short critique session after the demo.
